Ive got a 99 s10 with 4.3 that ive basically got the bd done & now tubbing the firewall on.... main question is where has everyone reloacated thier fuse/relay box to on thiers? Also where did ya relocate the comoputer to?

The main harness that goes to the fuse/relay box is right where ive got to tub my driverside firewall at ... though about moving it around the side of that and then running the harness inside the fender....but not real sure how that will complicate things cause i wanna sheetmetal the backside of my fenders after the bd is completed.

The computer Ive got already relocated onto the firewall on the pass side and above my new tub but think ill relocate it inside the cab basically in about the same spot where its at now...so it wont be hard to do either.

Basically wanna clean up the engine bay as much as possible....but at the same tiem i hate....really hate wiring.... so want it clean as possible without remaking from scratch the entire trucks harnesses and such.

wanna see what everyone else has done to give me a few other ideas and options and maybe a ponter or 2 never hurt anything either

thanks all

before i scrapped all the factory wiring for a carbuerated engine i had to lengthen EVERY SINGLE WIRE going to the fuse box and the computer, and then ran them thru the firewall, and put everything behind the dash. Have fun if thats what u decide to do man, it took me FOREVER to get that shit done...good luck

Is lengthening all the harness wires as easy as cutting and extending. I'm thinking of attempting it on my truck, but don't wanna screw anything up...

damn dont tell me that lonoma ....lol... I cant stand wiring for some reason..... think id rather be stabbed in the eye with a pencil ....lol

Im hoping i wont have to do that....but if i have to then oh well nuttin else i can do

As soon as i realized the wiring was gonna pose more of a prob than i thought Ive been wishing i had a 350 sittin around so i could ditch it all ....lol

nick i havent done mine yet....but sounds kinda easy but dont expect it to be prolly.... youve got an ass load of wires basically going everywhere..... to reloate everything and have to lengthen/rewire 90% of it,gonna have to take your time and really map everything out and also make sure nothing gets crossed

thats another reason i dread mine

That's what i did

BTW..there are 119 wires to cut, lengthen, and splice w/o gettin em outta whack(at least on a 4 cyl. engine) happy wiring :D

this part will be dumb kinda shane....but what really should i do with like my ABS,airbag, & AC wiring....none of that junk is there anymore and having 30 extra plugs just laying around in the engine bay is kinda ghetto ....lol

can i just snip em...i mean they already dont run to anything so not much difference.... but shouldnt hurt anything on any of those items will it...maybe just throw my abs & airbag lights on right?

ya man it will definately throw the lights on, on mine the wires that went to the AC, wipers,(I kept ABS), and stuff i didnt need i just followed back to either the computer or fuse box and snipped em at the base of the plug. I never had the check engine light come on either so that was a good thing...what im gonna do about emissions this go around is another story. Guess i better find a hook up

i moved my computer to the firewall between my pass side wheel tub and engine.
