i have a 2000 xtreme i just bagged i dropped it on the road and i was dragging the body kit just to see where i was with height i dropped the front today and then the back i hit the tranny crossmember on the v6 motor it was throwing sparks but i dont know if i was draggin my tank or not does anyone drag there tranny crossmember on a v6 and do u hit your tank if u do??
look underneath, and see what is scraped up.. the tanks do drag on s10s regardless of what motor...
maybe it was that sweet set of plastic drag blocks...i figured i might as well say it since i had a set but you know some smart ass will say it
Just wait tell theres a big boom! then u know u have been draggin gas tank lol jk yea just look and see if the bottom of the tank is all scraped up
More than likely the tank is dragging. If you have it low enough in the front for the X member to drag then the tank has got to be dragging. Not a good idea!!! But just like everyone else has said, take a look under the truck and see what is going on, real simple.
if it's a 4.3 with a 5 speed it could be your tranny itself.... the slave cylider is over on the passenger side and is the lowest point of the truck other then the gas tank i believe, they might be the same but my tank was got a long time ago. but i do know for sure my tranny hangs down about and inch and u can actually see my shifter move up just a lil bit when i layed it out. now that's it's BDd the rockers are lower then the tranny, but it's still an S-10 problem that not many people address due to the fact that 4.3 5 speeds are rare in the first place. so good luck and take some pics of that fucked up body kit... this i gotta see
the truck is a auto and the tranny crossmember is the lowest point i only dropped it doing about 15 mph so i didnt burn
i drag my cross member bolts before my tank hits
