hey guys I'm sure there are threads already on this but i can't find them! I just talk to Ricky at SD and they aren't going to be making the arms for quite some time, well i need to lay on 20's soooon!! and i don't want to wait for the other company's that take 4-5 weeks or however long, i need to start on this bad boy soon to get Mississippi, so I've heard of some of you say you can lay on STOCK control arms and drop spindles......HOW?????? any info and pics would help, thanks guys!

yeah you can for sure but you will need to reangle the upper balljoint and to pay comfortably you may need to narrow the control arms just a touch to make life easier.

thank you Jeff, also if anyone thinks they can get me a set of arms within 2-3 weeks at a good price please also post your info, but if i can lay with stock i'll go that route.......so Jeff you're saying i need to reangle my upper balljoints, and when you say narrow the arms to lay comfortably are you speaking of the actual diameter of the metal?

nah dave, basically pulling the wheel away from the fender more. only like 1/2" it would depend on the wheels you are running. the best way to do the ball joint is put a slit cut paralell behind the ball joint and pie cut the side so the ball joint with reangle itself basically. then jack the control arms up with a wheel until it lays and there you go. tack the control arm and then pull it all apart and weld it completly and repeat on the other side.

I was wanting the SD arms, Jeff thanks for the help, my dad has very good welding skills and has done alignments for years as a ASE master certified mechanic, should he be able to figure this out by looking at it?

if the stock length is fine, you just have to score the upper arm infront of the balljoint, bend it down maybe 15 degrees, weld it back, then cut the hump off the lower, and plate it, and notch for the tierod.

Yep, you can lay on 20s, pie cut the upper arms and bend the ball joint down approx 13
