OK guys, if i go buy this 2.0 truck that has a good engine, will the engine bolt up to my tranny? or will i need to use the tranny from the 2.0 truck? What other things will i need to keep or use from my truck or the other? will the harness work from my truck on the other, or will i need to pull the harness from the 2.0? I am hopefully going to get the 2.0 truck next weekend and get started on this swap ASAP. Someone give me some info...

you'll need engine and tranny, the motors have a different bellhousing pattern.

on a COMPLETELY unrelated subject: I vote we all pitch in and buy Blitch a truck with a running motor. This is the second truck in three years with a bad engine, and I hate to see a good minitrucker stuck in his driveway all that time. What does everyone say? I'll chip in 10 bucks.

How come you just dont rebuild the engine instead of buy ANOTHER truck?

the engine in my truck i bought has a cracked block, or else I would just rebuild it. I am getting a whole truck with a good engine and tranny, so i will just use both. no biggie, as long as the driveshaft and everything else matches up..

BTW, thanks for thinking about me Russ and Justin. If i ever decide to do another one, it will be a good running fullsize, like a newer body chevy or GMC.

yea when the ram50s and might max's overheat they crack their heads. it happens very often on the first time. i would get a better 2.6 instead like the starion or conquest tsi.

Even though you already decided to use both the engine and the tranny, here's the skinny on the tranny situation, for future reference.

There are two bellhousing patterns, narrow and wide. The 2.6 is the wide pattern, regardless of whether it is an auto or manual (same motor and tranny as you can find in a B2600, but not a B2600i). The 2.0 is a wide pattern block if it's an automatic, and a narrow pattern if is a 5 speed. I've done quite a bit of research from trying to find a tranny to bolt up to my 4G63.

As for the wiring, no fucking clue. I like Mazdas.

Also, I'd be interested in buying any of those three types of trannies. You should have one left over, right? The wide pattern 5 speeds are desireable for the rear wheel drive 4G63 crowd, the bellhousing is what everyone wants so they can use an RX7 tranny with the 2.6 bellhousing. Let me know if you have a tranny you want to sell.

I just read your post again, looks like you are using the 2.0 and tranny that comes with it. What I'm looking for is a 5 speed from a 2.0. I need a narrow pattern. But, even if yours is a 5 speed your using it.

And also, the 5 speed narrow pattern doesn't have a removable bellhousing, but the wide pattern 5 speed does. So no swappy swappy between the two to get the other to work. Otherwise, this wide pattern 5 speed in my shop would work for me.
