in fact you can do it for most units of measure and it will convert for you.

no. that means that the wheel mounting surface (the flat part that sits on your hub) is offset 35mm from the centerline of the wheel. The "=" means it is offset to the front side of the wheel, if it was -35 it would be offset to the rear side if the wheel.
Offset if dependent of the width of the wheel, so BE SURE you know the width when you ask offset questions.

offset is esay to calculate...
fisrt take the width of the rim and add an inch.
then take the offset (+20 for example) and convert it to inches. 20mm=0.787"
then you add that to the first value you calculated( if its a 9" rim you would add an inch to make it 10" and when divided by 2 you would end up with 5) if your half rim value was 5 then your back spacing would be 5.787"
if you have yout back spacing and you want to calculate your offset you can work backwards
and find the difference between your back sapcing and the half rim value ( ex. if you had 6" BS and half of the rims was 5" your offset would be 1" )
you can then take the inch value and go to google and type this as a search
1 in to mm
and it will convert it
you can also type 20 mm to in and it will do that as well.
this is a post i made for someone else on how to calculate offset from backspacing and backspacing from offset.
