I'm trying to stay away from credit cards for a little while anyway.. Just sticking with check/debit lol. Parts for an emergency I could see myself using one though, for a service though probably not.. I know everyone likes to be paid cash

I agree, i will use my card to order parts but i will already have the cas in my account to pay them off, if you can not build it with cash wait a lil longer

i agree debit or check but i live in louisiana so debit always comes in handy. i had a guy i worked with that thought he was hot shit. who pulled out a credit card and told me any time i wanted to compete that his money was awful long.

i avoid credit cards for everything. i have one for booking hotels and maybe renting a car. unless you have a preffered credit card most of the time the company can raise your interest rate to 28% at any time without notice or if you miss a payment. they offer people low interest rates and wait for them to slip up and charge a few thousand, then the interest rate goes to the max and it takes you years to pay it off. i wouldnt use one for anything unless you need to.

credit cards are the DEVIL. but debit/check cards are great, i never carry cash i just keep up with how much i'm spending. check cards are the way to go.

it's honestly not a bad idea to use a visa/mastercard when paying for work. Although i would agree with the fact that you should have the cash, the advantages of paying with a debit/credit outweigh the disadvantages. with a debit or credit you are secured by the cards bank for purchases and or labor. there's been a huge amount of shops that have done sub-par, even un-safe work. if those people were to have paid with a debit/credit, they could have disputed the charges with the card company and not ended up getting screwed for large amounts of money. just my 2 cents, but it seems to make sense to me
