cutting out the floor of my buddies ranger to make a new one....how does everyone suggest on braces so that the cab does twist or anything...cab is off frame...has doors still on...we welded a bar by each door and triangles coming off those at each end...and one bar between those two...is that good enough???...are braces even needed?

I'd weld two bars at an angle from the bar that you welded across the doors to the corners of the roof to keep it square. (Not to the roof itself but the reinforcement skins inside)

ive done a couple traditional bodydrops, and never felt the need to brace the cab up, theres enough structure in the cab to keep it square if you are just cutting the floor out of it.

i welded 1 across right in front of the doors, and 1 right behind the doors, then i welded an angled on bottom and top to make an "X".........if ur just cuttin out the floor i dont see the need to brace it, but if u are cuttin out the firewalls too like i did then u def need to brace it. leaving the firewalls in make it alot stronger.

Yeah, I guess your right. I guess that applies more to crewcabs...the door pillar tends to bow out.
