i did one day down the street over by where I used to work. i hauled ass back and had one of the guys that worked for me go down and put it out with a fire extinguisher. a couple of fire trucks came. he talked to them and they said someone had called 911 to report that a broken truck was driving down the road and caught the grass on fire. i was parked back at work with the truck up as high as it would go

i have seen frame rails catch fire for a second of two when people drag enough. but yeah what you are worried about is of course a worry. i saw a hardbody drag thorough his gas tank and burn it to the ground also but i dont think that counts.

i started a fire this summer, i was having a problem blowing air lines cause i never put a turn down on my exhaust after i finished my sheet meal bed. well it trapped the heat in the cover and would melt my lines that got to the tank. i was coing over a hill to where i had to drop my truck in to 3rd, reving about 4500 to stay at 70. and i blew a damn line right at the top ot the hill. right after i crested the truck layed out since there was no sholder i had to drag my shit for about a 1\4 mile untill i had anough room to pull over. mind you im stranded and the next thing i know about mid way up the hill i just came down was tons of smoke. so with the quickness i calle my brother to pick me up. as my brother came the fire department was just arriving. i left to home and was gone about 2 hrs getting a jack, some 1\2 copper tubing, and some fittings. when i got back the fire was put out and no police or any one in site. so i pulled my bed off on the side of the road and started repairing my lines. out of nowhere a 4x4 fire truck pulls up and states that they knew i started the fire because my frame marks were traced to my truck from where the fire started..... luckly they were real cool about it and saide since they see that i had a mechaniclal malfunction that i would most likely not be fined for arson. i got real lucky! but if you start a fire dont be line me and cause it and get stuck! lol

Livving in oklahoma and being able to watch the news and see the people worry so much about their houses burning down, I wouldn't do it.
