hey all, i wanna know which way is the easiest to shave all the imperfections off the block. Is their any kind of special tools to smooth the block out???thankscory

may not be the most popular way, but we just used a die gringer and a shit load of sand paper. Spent 2 weeks day in and day out before Showfest smoothing and deburring the block and tranny. It's hard to tell in the pics how smooth it really is, and sort of goes un-noticed at shows lol.... oh well, good bonding experience and excercise for the arms as well hehe.mike

yeah. di grinder always worked for me, it takes some time but eventually youll get the results your lookin for, just make sure you ether wash it down or blow it off before you paint it

Die grinder with a flap wheel is the best way...the flap wheel- comes in different grits from like 36 up to 120...that will leave it smooth enough to prime it with some filler primer

plus you can get them from Lowe's or Home depot for like 5 bucks a wheel...3 or 4 should do a 350 block...maybe one more for aluminum heads cause the aluminum will clog
up the wheel faster

yup a die grinder with an assortment of sandpaper. like someone said above the kit eastwood sales is probably your best bet. well worth it for a motor your gonna show off.not sure how to make the pic show up but here is mine.www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/709PC050445.JPG
