I have two of these comps. and they have both gone out in the past. What I figured out is that the relay that is in the little gray box burns up very easily. I just took it out and ran the wires strait out of the box and to a larger relay externaly. Hope that helps.

Viair would be replacing lots of pumps if they did. There product has gone down hill. what does everyone else think?

I don't remember who I talked to but they told me that they tried to run those new Air Zentih's, 4 of them, upside down under the bed and they burnt up right away.. I'm not saying they are crap but they aren't bulletproof either... Then again no compressor is bulletproof..

My 550 just quite working one day & after taking it apart we realized it was the internal relay that fried! So, I too went with a bigger realy & it was fine for awhile & then it quite on me again. This time the brushings that attach to the inside motor were really worn out, so I had them replaced & its been fine ever since! Its not hard to take apart & put back together; just make sure that you have an extra set of helping hands when u do it!
