ok look. its basically the fact that my buddy skinny here has to go to court in tenn. and not only pay the tickets, if proven guilty, but the fact that the cop told him he had to bring proof when he comes back to court that his truck is back to the factory stock specifications. has anyone been told that when they got pulled over for altered suspension? i mean its kinda hard to believe that they could try to make someone do that when the vehicle is registered in another state.

I de-bagged and de-bodydropped my truck two years ago to get out of an altered suspension ticket that I got at Layed out at the Park. Although I had to get a lawyer and appear in court in Tenn. to fight the $1,200 ticket and felony charge.

The trooper didn't even check the VIN on my truck....I could have taken any blue hardbody down there for him to look at.

If someone thinks that altered suspension is illegal in the state of Tennessee then please post the title, chapter and number of the code that states it is illegal.... I have not found one nor heard of one so I am going keep on believing it is false..... Further more I have personally called out an officers trying to cite me for such violation and he himself was unable to find anything in the Tennessee Code Annotated...

OK here is the only thing that the law says about altering a suspension... It states the the SPINDLES may not be altered in any way from oem specifications. But the obvious thing in the book is u must keep ur frame a specific amount of inches from the ground *I want to say 12 but i will not state something i am not sure about* All of this combined skinny u could get out of this with just a seatbelt violation... Thats one thing the damn judge will always side with the officer with lol

I lived in Tennessee for the majority of my life. I was given an altered suspension ticket and actually went to the police station to argue it. They showed me the law. Altered suspension in Tennessee is illegal. If you use a 2" lowering block, it's considered altered suspension and is illegal. Changing the suspension in ANY way in Tennessee is considered altered suspension and is illegal. If a cop wants to give you a ticket for it, he can.

ok lets see well i recently moved from tn to va and it goes like this no matter where your vehicle is registered you gotta abide by the laws where you drive it so the plate tn says must be at the furthest most point of the vehicle atleast 12 inches from the ground you must wear your seat belt and any altered suspension in tn is illegal now most of this depends on the cop and how big of a dick they wanna be ive had all those tickets in tn and they do suck but you drove through tn deal with it

Incorrect. When you are in another county or state you must abide by that county's or states traffic code plus federal traffic and vehicle code. You do not have to abide by that county or states vehicle code. You must abide by your registred state and county's code. If you own a 1947 rat rod in Oregon and have blue dots and a spot light on the drivers side and then drive thru California and then get pulled over the CHP or police can not right you up for whats legal were you live.

I was told the complete opposite by a NH Judge after fighting a too low ticket in court because I was registered in CT. I trust him a bit more than you.
