dude, altered suspension is illegal in ga.(ask me how i know) it all depends on which cop pulls you over and if he really wants to be a dick or not.

can you not call your county office and tell them what happened to see if they can do something about it, where you wont have to go out of state to appear in court? a friend of mine had this happen b/c a cop in tenn caught him adjusting his ride height in traffic and he lives here in ky. just a suggestion.

ok look. its basically the fact that my buddy skinny here has to go to court in tenn. and not only pay the tickets, if proven guilty, but the fact that the cop told him he had to bring proof when he comes back to court that his truck is back to the factory stock specifications. has anyone been told that when they got pulled over for altered suspension? i mean its kinda hard to believe that they could try to make someone do that when the vehicle is registered in another state.

ok lets see well i recently moved from tn to va and it goes like this no matter where your vehicle is registered you gotta abide by the laws where you drive it so the plate tn says must be at the furthest most point of the vehicle atleast 12 inches from the ground you must wear your seat belt and any altered suspension in tn is illegal now most of this depends on the cop and how big of a dick they wanna be ive had all those tickets in tn and they do suck but you drove through tn deal with it

abiding by another state's laws isnt the deal. the deal is why should he have to bring proof to court that his truck is back to stock specs when he goes to court? seriously what kinda shit is that? would any of you take your truck thats bagged and bodydropped back to stock for court?

OOOOK so lets clear sum things up here for sum people who dont know anything bout what they are talkin bout the laws in tn... IT IS NOT ILLEGAL 2 HAVE ALTERED SUPSENSION... Ive talked with city and state police... altering while goin down the road is illegal tho... SECONDLY the license plate law WILL NOT stick if u have it securely fastened to the vehicle, at the rear of the vehicle (it DOES NOT say it has to be the rear most part of the vehicle), if it is clearly visible from the rear of the vehicle and has not been altered in anyway.. THE LAW FOR THE LICENSE PLATE IS 55-4-110 PARAGRAPH B... DOUBT ME LOOK IT UP... FIGHT IT MAN.. MAKE THE COP LOOK LIKE A COMPLETE DICKHEAD!! IVE DONE IT AND ITS A GREAT FEELING... Best bet is just go talk to a local cop and they will seriously be willing to help u... Good luck man

Incorrect. When you are in another county or state you must abide by that county's or states traffic code plus federal traffic and vehicle code. You do not have to abide by that county or states vehicle code. You must abide by your registred state and county's code. If you own a 1947 rat rod in Oregon and have blue dots and a spot light on the drivers side and then drive thru California and then get pulled over the CHP or police can not right you up for whats legal were you live.
On another note I wouldn't take your truck in that state when you goto court. Those people are real shady. Get photos and or your local PD to right off your tickets. If thats not good enof for the judge then chances are damn good he was gonna throw the book at you from the start. So at least he cant have your truck impounded on the spot.
