yo, this message is for anyone that is near the scottsburg, IN .... about 30miles north of louisville KY, and about 90miles south of Indianapolis.....

I was on my way crusin to havoc last night, and at about midnight, the rear end on my dodge exploded, and now there is a gaping hole in the bottom of my rear end, so i need a whole new rear end.

Its a 2002 dodge ram, and im hoping that someone from this area may possibly read this message and know of a salvage yard, or anyone i can contact to get a new rear end.

Ive called the numbers in the phone book, but most of them are closed, and my hotel is no help because they dont have any other phonebooks.

its a 2002 dodge 1500, 2wd. I have also have disc brakes on the rear.

does anyone here know if the pre 02 rear ends will bolt up?

any help from anyone is appriceated. Right now im stuck untill monday, and then hopefully i could get ahold of one at a salvage yard........and even then im 600 miles from home lol

anyones help is apriceated

Taylor

try checking on car-part.com that's a national salvage yard search engine. Hopefully that will help some.

Good Luck in your search, I hope someone can help you.

FYI

When you get a new rearend under your truck, replace the diff. The casting that Dodge uses for the diff housing is too soft. The retainers break and the gears end up chewing right through the housing. I caught mine in time, but usually it lasts just long enough for the warranty to expire. My mechanic has seen them go as soon as 30 000 miles. It is a common problem.
