Hey guys I need you help for some info about the Cali life.

I'm living up north in Quebec, Canada and I have an offer on the table for a job in Cali (LA, San Diego and other). I don't have much info since it's a first offer but I'd like to know how's the life out there in general.

I'd like to know how much it would be to have an appartment, What's the gas price, how much would it cost me to get insurance for a "normal" vehicule (I'll see if I buy a mini once there ). I would also like to know how much it would cost to get medical/health insurance (26, m, non smoker...). Finally I'd like to know what the taxes look like?? I mean income taxes and sales taxes.

I hope some of you can help me I'd like to think about all that during the weekend.

well i live in northern san diego. i pay 1250 month for a 2 bedroom with garage apartment. insurance for a normal car is about 100 to 150 month but im younger than you.. gas goes for 2.90 to 3 bucks a gallon. sales tax is like .075 or something.. quality of life is very good to me..traffic really sucks a$$.. lots of activities around the car world.. clubs, shows cruises... definatly expect alot more hispanics than im guessing are in quebec.

i live in orange county as well and i love it here. hot girls everywhere and its close to everything, the beach, the mountains, the desert, la, san diego, not too far from vegas or mexico. places to live are pretty expensive but you can find some affordable places. sales tax is 7.5 cents a dollar or somethin like that.

Central Cali is a good place to live, some people might say otherwise but i like it here. It gets hot here (somewhere around the 100's mid summer) but you also dont have to deal with all the bullshit traffic and people in the socal area. Close to a lot of shit here too. i pay 1200 bucks a month for a 3 bed HOUSE with a 2 car garage in a pretty nice neighborhood.

Heath benefits usually come with jobs in the U.S. thats if you get a decent one. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you got any questions!

Hey guys thanks for all the info!

Seems like life is way cheaper here haha

The sales tax is cheaper than here, what about income taxes??

As far as the job I have on the table I'm not sure about all the benefits that's why I'm asking. About the green card, they're supposed to work all the admin stuff if I do get the job.

It's all some speculation as of right now 'cause it's an offer I received this morning and I'd have to take the interviews and some other stuff, but I really appreciate those info. It will help me make my mind. It's a big decision to take and I won't do it if I have to loose my life quality (moneywise, 'cause the rest of my life can't compare the the cali life I guess haha).

Also, Orange county seems to be a great place... how far is it from LA or San Diego?? (I really suck at Cali geography haha).

I would mostly like to live close to one of those if I have to work there... I'm not a big traffic fan and we have WAAAAAAYYYY less traffic than you do!!! But I'm sure living in LA or San Diego is probably WAAAAAY more expensive too.

Tell me more guys!!!
