what would it take to get a vehicle registered that was outside of the USA? Like say I go to Mexico and bring back a 4 door hardbody what would I have to go through to get it registered here in TX?

you could not get it registered atleast in az you cant register a mexican vehicle in the us

ive heard rumor that you could use it for recreation purpose but thats all but not sure on that

Contact the Customs office. There are companies that will do the paperwork and be the middle man between you and customs. I've worked with Seven Seas Consultants at the port in Houston. You can call them and they will be able to point you in the right direction. (281) 359-7193 ask for Charlie.

You can check on the D.O.T. website. They have a list of accepted vehicles and a list of registered importers. There is a mandatory test that vehicles have to go through. The cost is around $7,000 plus the cost of any modifications that have to be done to match U.S. specs. The modifications have to be made by the impoter. A vehicle can also be imported for show or display, but I never really checked into that.

I live in El Paso, Juarez Mexico is like 20 miles from my house. I see those trucks everyday cruising around here. My friends Dad owns a Junkyard in Mexico and told me you cant register them here in the states. Ive been trying to get ahold of a cab and put it on a stretched american frame.
