do you have any opinion on this chris? i was told by a few guys to use the entire crown vic chassis, and then just build a back half off it. i have considered an s10 clip, but thought it was way too narrow, and i figured it would be alot of work to build extended control arms.

that crown vic frame will almost completely bolt up lol. fuck clippin it, just toss the body on it. grand marquis/crown vic, same shit. s10 clip would be a pain compared to what a fullsize takes. the fullsize jumps up right where the ford clip does, so with some measuring, its just a weld and reinforce deal. exact same widths as well. from early 90's down anyways, not sure about late 90's. easiest would be a late 70's as the crossmember is bolt in, just makes shit easier to clean fully imo, same frame width and shit though.

check out fordification.com and talk to some guys there. A lot of them are work hogs with there trucks, and stick to their ford teachings, but a few of the guys are coming around to the lowered side. matter of fact, couple guys there are doing both swaps i mentioned. body to frame, and clipping the fullsize.

Marcino (68 bagged ford on here) is over there as well. Not to mention Grant from classic trucks I believe is the name of the magazine.

As far as the MII clip is concerned, I wanna say the reason they don't get much lift is because the arms hit the bag mount. With some worked tubulars, thats fixable. Not sure if there's any more to it than that though.

the vic chassis is like a half inch off in the front. but it's honestly not a huge deal. There are pics on that forum. Just search "smokeybear" i believe.

The front body mounts are almost identical. You just have to oval them out a bit. Not much. The rear cab mount needs to be fabbed up, as well as bed mounts I do believe. I talked to the guys quite extensively in both threads, about both builds, so your questions are probably more than answered. Marcino is killer, all the help in the world. Marz68 is his name over there.

and if you did end of s10 clipping it...you could widen the crossmember rather than extend the arms.
