I noticed a big difference in stopping when I put one in my dakota. I got one off an astro van and used a s10 master cylinder. It runs off the power steering pump in between the pump and rack. Then you t into the return line.

i'm not sure about dodge, but if they don't make them, my chevy 3500 dually has one & it doesn't look like it would be that hard to put the whole setup in whatever vehicle you want. also i'd have no idea about price, but good luck man.

i say about 500-600 i work at oreillys and the hydraboost itself for a GM runs about 400 rebuilt lifetime warranty, then your master cylinder like 50 bucks but there is going to be a core charge if you dont have a junk one.

Ok after looking around town a little. I can get a rebuilt hydrobooster, master cylinder, and resevoir off of an 04 Dodge 3500 for $330 with a lifetime warranty. I'm thinking the dodge hydrobooster should have the same brake line fittings and should be easier to use than a chevy or GMC. My question is, do I need a proportional valve or will the hydrobooster already have one. I'm going to the junk yard and dealership tomorrow to look at it installed on a truck. I do know that it has the same wiring harness and the same pedal rod as the 1500's. From pics out of my Haynes book they both seem to have the same mounting holes also. Anyone know about the proportional valve. Thanks for your help guys. Any opinion on what i just said would be great. I'm hoping this works. I talked to Hydratech today and it's looking like a system from them will be around $875 shipped. OUCH!!

I wish I lived in Texas so my cost of living would be half of what it is now. Then I could stay caught up.

Funny thing is....Most of the stuff I take off my truck I can sell and get at least half my money back. Hell I can sell my 4.7 and tranny to the junkyard for $2200 right now. A buddy of mine has a LT1 and tranny he wants to sell for $1500. I'm thinking about it.

Great news for the Dodge guys with the 4.7. A hydrobooster off of an 04 Dodge 3500 with the 5.9 cummins will bolt up to the 1500 with no problems what so ever. The pedal rod bolts directly up, the firewall holes are the same, the electrical plugs rignt in, the lines plug right into the rack and pinion. You have to change one fitting at the powersteering pump and it is a dealer only part. Cost me a total of $250 with a lifetime warranty. Alot better than the $800 Hydratech quoted me. Just thought i would share. Later

It's a junkyard in Troy, TX. Called Anderson Auto Salvage. He's told me several times that he can't keep 4.7's. I'm not sure about the 5.9 though. They sell them the day they come in on the trailer. Last one he sold was for $2700 with tranny. So he would be making $500 off of me quick. That's part of the reason why I won't do it. That and I havent' really found a motor I am dying to have. Ecspecially since mine will be a daily and gas prices keep going up. Thinking about putting a 4-cylinder in it. LOL How's the truck coming along? I was going to go with the Hydratech but they were just to high. I bet you could get a 1 ton booster for cheap in the Houston area. This junkyard is always alot higher than any place i call in Houston.
