Yeah, a 383 still is a 350 on the outside. A cool swap would be like an LT1, or even just a TPI. Something that isn't the standard. An oldschool 283 would be sweet. Or go crazy and put a nailhead in it..

or he could just put a standard 350 in it and say its a 383... no one would everr know.. sneeky sneeky

you can hear the difference quite easily

unless the 350 has a nice cam or something

he also has a small cowl to clear. he had to use the ugly triangle Enelbrock air cleaner cuz a 10" round would hit the cowl.

A TPI would fit with a stock hood as it is not as tall as a carb setup.

yeah, but i want it carbed so i get that badass lope with a cam. And i'm gonna have to figure out a way around the headers with the steering shaft, i'm sure it can be done, i just gotta figure it out.

ya with hella balls!

why not go ls6 or ls7 502 big block just mount ur a arms to the block

build the 4.3 til it has like 300-400 hp

a well built 4.3 will shit on a 383 stroker in a s10

a buddy of mine has a sandcar with a turbo 4.3 vortec and its pushin 375hp on average almost 400 on a good day at the beachit smashes on those turbo sti powered and even the hyabusa powered sand cars.. i would imagine that in an s10 it would still be fast as hell

You can have EFI with a lopey cam. My friend has a stroked LT1 with a routy cam, and it lopes like crazy. Came as a kit, and the company reburns your computer. Or somethign like that. Cool shit they can do nowdays.

Expensive though. You might as well just put a 265 Hemi in it.

i didnt studdernaturally aspiratedV6 Long Block. 4.3 Liter 500 HP @ 5200 RPM / 575 ft/lbs of torque @ 4800 RPM

when the turbo system was ran it was like 575 or something along those lines... i was comparing a built up 4.3 to a mild 383 our sandcar/pre runner can run with the turbocharged ls1's and ls7's no problem but thats not in a truck.. said it *should* still have balls and be fast as hell..

a 4.3 smoke a 383 stroker? Seriously? Your looking at, at the least 400 horses from just a mild stroker build. Thats just from parts, new heads, and a carb/intake. That's what? 3-3.5 grand, if you build the actual long block yourself.

a 4.3 would need to almost double if not triple its power, im not sure of stock numbers. 350's themselves push a solid number stock, stroking it just pushes the numbers that much higher.
