Does anyone know if i have to use a different oil pan with a 383 stroker kit? Or can i use the stock one? Will the stock one fit on a bd s10? or will i have to section it? Can i type anything that does'nt end in a question mark? WTF's wrong with me?
You can run any 350 oil pan you want. A stock one, or even a crazy Moroso one, or even a dry sump pan.
yeah, a stroker kit doesnt affect the oil pan.
lol you might have to fab motor mounts to run any pan you want. or you could section it, really it depends on wheter or not you want to keep a stock hood, or only have a small cowl hood.
yeah, i was planning on lowering the motor mounts, i like the look of a small cowl hood, though, or maybe a 4" cowl. still have'nt decided. But thanks for the help.
can't help you but I would like to say Hell Yeah on the 383 Nice choice
well, minitruckin just covered Sparks in the Ozarks and they mentioned something about it seems like 350's come stock in s10's because they saw so many. Well, i live in the same state as that show, i always wanted to do something different, i was looking for a 327 but they are pretty rare, got a good deal on a 350 from a 91 silverado, so i'm going to carb it, put some vortec heads on it, do the 383 stroker kit, cam, and headers and be done with it.
all a 383 stroker is.. is a350 with a 400 crankshaft basically .. a few other things but oil and stuff is the same

Yeah, a 383 still is a 350 on the outside. A cool swap would be like an LT1, or even just a TPI. Something that isn't the standard. An oldschool 283 would be sweet. Or go crazy and put a nailhead in it..
