i posted this in a forum and i think it needs to be said to everyone. who loves there ride no matter if its a pinto or a dodge dart or a lambo.....
honestly not trying to be a fucking asshole... this is more of a public service announcement..
CARRY A FUCKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!!i have a small one bolted to the side of my sub box. its color matched... you can get them pin striped, you can get chrome one. cost you 10 bucks for a normal dry chemical one. or you can spend more and get the halon one that wont cause a powdery mess and cost you about 100. but think spending that 100 bucks will save you all the tears and sweat and blood and beer that went into your pride and joy on 4 wheels... please. i am tired of seeing these bad trucks going bye bye.
hope no one takes this the wrong way. i do mean it in the nicest way.
thank you.Pootus

my new car came with like 20 airbags, but no fire extinguisher........ if automobile manufacturers felt it necessary to have one, im sure they would have removed 2 airbags and put a fire extinguisher......

and have you ever tried to extinguish 15 gallons of burning gas with a 40 oz fire extinguisher?

yeah but most fires don't start in the gas tank. if a compressor catches fire or a small electrical fire next to your fuel tank/cell the extinguisher would definatly help.

Hey it's a good idea for a custom vehicle.. No matter how good you are there is the chance of shit happening. And it's been my experiance with the umteen car fires I have seen as a Wrecker pilot that if the people would have had one when the fire started... A 40oz extinguisher could have saved their ride BEFORE the fuel tank went up. Again not all cases but quite a few, Just my 2 cents though.

I carry one in mine, and its come in handy a couple times, but not with my truck, someone elses. After the first time my buddys truck almost caught fire, I thought about it. Cheap, and IMPORTANT. I cannot stress on how much safety is important when driving a vehicle, ALWAYS BE PREPARED FOR THE UNTHINKABLE!

Good Call... Fire Extinguisher saved this guy Adam on a recent drag session. He had a raised gastank crossmember that was either not built properly or not installed properly (I honestly don't know). On the drag session, he was railing hard when the gas tank broke open and a spark caught into it. Here are some pics...
Luckily what you see is the worst of it, within 30 seconds he had stopped and extinguished the fire. I know it will be one of my first investments.

Cris...honestly is there a point at which you'll agree with anything? Or is it going to continue to be smartass remarks?? I personally agree totally with carrying an extiguisher in your vehicle. I'm sure it's saved more than one life and ride.

Boats are required to have one, and they are surrounded by water.
I always see them on the passenger pillar. What happens when the driver hits something and the passenger get a face full of fire extinguisher?
Never understood that.
