where to find trailer

Ok, i need to know where to find a good deal on a car hauler, and what to look for in one. If anyone knows anyone close that has one for sale, let me know. I've checked the classifieds and ebay, it seems the most likely candidate is an 18ft tandem flatbed. Do i need to make sure there are trailer brakes on both axles? Or is just one ok? I'd like to stay under a grand if possible, is that do able?

It's going to be hard to find one in decent shape for under a grand unless someone is very hard up for cash. As far as the brakes go most trailers I have looked at have brakes on both axles if they have brakes.

why would it be hard? new ones are like $1600.

actually, what i really want is this:

but that's a pipe dream.

That inclosed trailer is nice but if I ever have one I want one that has a door and the right side infront of the fender, so I can get out of my truck easier once I get it in the trailer. One of the guys in the club found some 16' tandem axle car haulers in Missouri for $850 new. No sure if they have breaks but for that price you could add them. Not sure if 16' would be long enough for ya.

Man those are some good deals you are finding! My problem is I have been looking at trailers big enough for 2 trucks and the cheapest I have found is 4500.00 for one with a full floor.

YOU NEED TO HAVE A TRAILER WITH BRAKES!!!!. If not you are asking the truck to stop all the weight and you will be replacing your brakes on the truck after every pull. You will want something that is at lease as long as the wheelbase and a foot or two more is a good thing. I would try not to go shorter than 18ft and make sure it has brakes

well if the new ones are $1600 and youve already allowed $1000 go ahead and throw in that extra $600 i convinced you not to spend on that hot rod air and get a new one!

atkins is in arkansas i think. i have an 18 ft. non dove tail tandem axle. an ext cab mini fills up the whole trailer but it does fit. i have brakes on only the rear axle and it does fine.
