ok i got a data cable hooked to my pc, do i have to have some soft ware to download pics/ring tones on to it? i have a i710 btw

Yep, you need Webjal. Checkout www.howardforums.com They have a ton of info on modding your phone. You'll also need some sort of converter to convert the sons to wav's in the correct format.
