b is just the series of the engine. Honda made a B, D, F and an H. B was in the civics and integras. D was in the civics with single overhead cam. B was always a dual. If it has an A after it it is a v-tec dual overhead. The f was the single over head 2.2 in the prelude and accord, and the H is the 2.2 or 2.3 in the preludes which the 2.2 was always v-tec.
as far as the number goes, its just the engine size, and in the
D15=1.5
B16=1.6
F22=2.2
H22=2.2
H23=2.3
