Ok, so last month im on vacation in KY, im headed back down to florida and I have to come through West Virgina. Im comin off one of the mountains up there just coastin along, not paying any attention. Next thing i know im getting pulled over for doin 81 mph in a 55. Well the cop writes me a ticket for reckless driving, which means i have to go to court, instead of just mailing in the fine. What im wondering is if i dont go to court what will they do? Will the points go on my florida drivers license? Insurance? Someone told me i would not be allowed to drive in WV anymore? I dont know how the state to state thing works, does anybody else?
They will find you guilty in your absence and then fine you. If you don't pay the fines, then you will have a suspended WVA driving privileges (meaning you can't drive in WVa.) You might want to check with your state to find out how they treat moving violations from other states. And more then likely, it will go against you for insurance purposes.
81 in a 55? i thought anything 20 over was jail time? atleast i know someone that was cuffed for....90 in a 40 and te cop said it woulda been the same anything above 60. IMO u got off easy. just pay for it and deal.
Nah, VA and WVa are pretty much the same. I think most of the time, on the interstate, they don't actually put you in hand cuffs unless you are doing over 100 mph, or driving drunk.
alot of states are working together now so if you don't pay a ticket in that state your suspended in your home state too...you might want to check and see ,if you will only be suspended in wva who care's anyway...i mean shit its legal to ride a 4 wheeler on the road there anyway

This is true i have the same problem,i have two tickets in south cak-alakie
technically here in CA "Reckless" driving, is a misdemeanor, and you can be arrested for it, or just cited. Usually speed alone isnt enough for reckless driving, you need another element to go along with speed. (swerving, cutting back and fourth, burning your tires). If you dont pay it, you will have a bench warrant, so dont go back into that state, because if your pulled over, your going to jail. And dont forget, you dont get cited out for bench warrants, so to get out,you have to post bond,it is no joke!
Insurance will also tag you for this. I would just clear it up man, shit, quit being lazy.
