FL License Plate Help

If I wanted my tag to have 2 words, each 3 letters.. would the Oranges in the middle of the Tag still be used, or could i have the oranges not on it, so the 2 words are a little closer inwards? The reason I ask is because right now my tag starts with a J and i had to trim the tag to fit in my tail light hole.. and if it started with a W im afraid itd be too big and itd have to trim off half the W. Maybe someone has a pic or info.. thanks
