Gas prices? holy shit

i saw on cnn today that analysts are speculating the price on a barrel of oil to go from somewhere around 55 dollars a barrel to 100 dollars, it'll damn near cost 4 bucks a gallon to fill up. I havent really done my research, does anyone know why this is happening now? i assume it has something to do with the war in iraq? :wtf:
