96 civic rear seat removal

Hi..I want to take out my rear seat off my 96 civic hatchback to clean & run sub wires..how do i get it out?..i tryed lifting up on it & found there r restraints on either side..i lifted up on them but it didnt rise anymore then 3",,thanks_MATT
