CALI PEOPLE WITH CUSTOM TAIL LIGHTS

ok just finished the molding the rollpan to the bed and i have the bukets in for the led's i talked to a cop and he told me that they have to b a sertain hight from the ground and that i need side lights. any one know the laws on this ?
