zc help please!

hey my buddy and i are having trouble getting his new dohc zc to get a spark. it trys to start and we can smell the gas but for some reason were not getting any spark to the spark plugs. any ideas on whats causing this? also anyone in the spokane north idaho area who has done this swap any help with this would be great.
