I have a 1980 D50 with a 2.0l with a bad head, there is a long block 2.6l available to me and i was wondering if everything would swap over from one engine to the larger one. Like Exahust manifold, intake, front engine accesories, ect. Anyone know this for sure?

Thanks,
Ronski

No, they are not the same. The 2.6 uses a timing chain, while the 2.0 uses a timing belt. Most likely the exaust ports are different.

Are you sure? I have my 2.0l torn down rite now and it has a 2-row timing chain plus anothe single row chain for the ballance shafts. It is a G52B. I looked at a pic of both intake manifold gasket on Autozone's web site and they look the same, but I want to know for sure.

Well Then your Truck Is a 2.6L Engine, Not a 2.0L

Oh yes forgot you have the older 2.0, which is in fact a timing chain engine, and is called a 4g52 as you stated. I was thinking of the g63b 2.0 which came in the later 80's trucks. Not sure on the compatability of the 4g52 and 4g54
