im thinking of swapping out the tranny in my 89 mm. the oringal tranny is a automatic and i want to put a standard in it. just wondering if theres anything i may need to change or reconfigure.
Thanks, Quinn
Main things are plate/adjuster barrell part on firewall where the clutch cable comes through, clutch pedal/brake assembly., tranny crossmember, and a lil wiring to get rid of neutral safety switch
what size motor/tranny are you working with. either way i have everything.........87 d50 g63b....i have x member, pedal assembly, clutch cable, adjuster barrell, clutch with only 1,500 miles etc, ....... . good luck and its not that much work. did it on a s 10...
on auto trucks is the hole allready there for the clutch cable?
Nope needs to be drilled out, and the piece that it goes through needs to be cut out or spot welds drilled and removed and tacked onto firewall of truck your converting to manual
if you have the part you can back plate it along with welding it in place...if i am not mistaken the outlines/template is there it just needs cut out.i have seen those areas get weak and pull the firewall apart...thats why i say to back plate it.
