Project Mazdang...

Well as some of you know im finally starting on my reg cab. ive already had it back halfed but it was kinda just throw together. well a lot of you have givin me ideas for it, thanx by the way, but ive decided to go with the stock floor bd. i was just gonna build a new frame from the firewall back but ive looked at it over and over and just decided to section an 1 3/4'' out of the frame to lay it a lil past the pinch. i wanted to tie the rear frame section inside the frame newayz. im gonna be running a 5.4 cobra motor with the efi and supercharger as well as the 6 speed tranny i picked up for a hella price from a buddy of mine that i built a truck for. im still thinking of running the cobra irs setup as well. well the question is has neone sectioned their frame on a maz for the stock floor? yes im gonna add strength back to it, but what do you guys think?

I wouldnt section the stock frame, It wont be strong enough. Especially if your going to be putting a 5.4 in it. If you dont want to cut the stock frame completely off you could cut it down and lay some 2x3 tubing in there and weld it in.

yeah thats kinda what i planned on doing. im gonna make sum x crossmembers to stiffin it back up, hopfully it wont twist on me.

started the body drop today, was gonna due a stock floor but due to time restraints, just opted to go with the trad. once my camera gets charged ill get sum pics going
