running diffrent size rim on rearend

i have a 1500 crew with limited slip rear endjust cracked a 22 w 265 35 tire and only spare i could get is a 265 70 16 need 17 to clear caliper so rim has to go out back need to move truck few hundred miles....... been told itll be ok but not sureim also not gonna hammer it on the drive so will it be ok

now if its hitting the brake caliper its  bad dont drive it get a bigger wheel 

You should be fine. The tire size calculator shows that 16" tire/wheel combo only being an inch bigger than that 22" tire/wheel combo. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

as long as you dont drive it for ever on that then u will be ok ...
