Does anyone have the latest ipod touch?

Getting one shortly for the holidays and wondering if you can get apps and all without this "jailbreak" deal? Have they opened up the app selection for both phone and ipod yet or do you still have to get around the system?

yeah u can get pretty much all the apps..the only ones that dont work are the ones that require a mic...but i have a ton of cool ones on my touch
