22x9 w/ 5.5 backspace

Will a 22x9 w/ a 5.5 backspacing work on a bagged 01 silverado? I have some 22x9.5 with a +25mm offset on there right now and when the rear is laid out it barely rubs the rear drivers side fender, but it's enough to burn through the paint after rubbing for a while.

The wheels you have now have about 4.25" of front space. The 22 x 9" with 5.5" backspace have 4.5" of front space, so they will stick out about 1/4" more than your current wheels.

Okay so that won't work. What size wheel (22x9,22x9.5,or 22x10) and what back spacing would you recommend for an 01 Silverado? Been looking at Bonspeed and Centerline wheels.

well i've never owned a silverado before but to match your current offset with your 9.5" wide wheels you would need:

9" wide wheel = +19 offset/5.75" backspacing
9.5" wide wheel = +25 offset/6.25" backspacing
10" wide wheel = +32 offset/6.75" backspacing

so if your wheels are just barely rubbing, just get a bit more offset/backspacing than listed above.

my centerlines are 22x9 with 5.5 backspacing and they tuck, just trimm the inner fender lip, my tires are 265 35 22 hope it helps.
