I took my 99 durango down the pipeline this weekend and went to cross a creek but it turned out to be more like a river. The hood of the durango went underwater and the motor took a long drink of water. The motor wasn't turninn very many rpms so it stalled right when water got on top of the piston.I got out of the truck and pulled all the plugs out to get the water out of the cylinders. Well when it finally started it was knockin but not a rod knock it is in the valves of #2.I drove it to my uncles house about 1 mile away and it didn't knock anymore. I changed the oil and the knocking started back.It ain't a bad knock at all it is pretty quiet. Does anyone have any ideal on why that happened or any advise???

only thing i can think of is the water pushed out a guide or seat in the head, but io have no idea just a guess. i think since water doesnt compress at all that it just made a way out through a seat or something. I have no clue just a guess.

Best way to mitigate mildew is let the truck air out with doors opened. Do you have a steam cleaner you can try pulling out some water? Good luck and hoe it turns out ok.
