Mine are 1.5". All this will accomplish is keeping them from going through the hood. You will still have to tub for the wheel and tire.

I heard that all this would do for my car is keep the upper control arm from being at such a steep angle to keep the ball joint from breaking but if it will let me be lower i want it done, i will cut up anything to make my lay!!!!

it will make your car lower. your building drop spindles when you section them. but chris is right you still will need to tub to make room so your wheels can travel up more.

i did mine 1and a half inches it was a lil to much the wheel had to be spaced out so it wouldnt hit the balljoint

Technically yo're not building a drop spindle since the hub location stays the same in relation to the lower control arm. All this accomplishes is preventing the ball joint from binding and shortening the total height of the spindle to keep it from going thruogh the hood.

Also if you're running air cylinders this may cause some clearance issuse with the cylinder and spindle or upper control arm. I don't really know for sure but was just a thought.
