what does the battery light on the gauge cluster mean? i have a 94 hardbody, and ive changed out the battery, but the light still stays on.
It could be your alternator. You can go to Autozone, O'Reily's, etc. and have it checked.
Advanced Auto/Autozone whatever the hell it is this week will check it for free!

First off...Did you have your battery tested because it may not have been bad?
Also it may be different for other areas, but the Autozone I work at will check it for free any time/not just during special weeks. They can check it while in the truck and can also bench test it if it's not installed.
On 94 Nissan there is a fusable link at the battery post, the end always corrodes. I have had three Hardbody's and all three had this problem. Weak connection due to corrosion, turns on the batt light.
You DONT need the special connector, on all three Hardbody's I just snipped the "special connector" off and put a ring terminal on. If you have powdery shit at the + terminal this is your problem.
DougIVKS also had one that the wire at the back of the alternator corroded and a ring terminal there fixed him too. But I thik his was a slow discharge/no start in the morning problem.
are you talkin about that black 3 prong plug?
welp im pretty sure it was the alternator, my truck died on me on the way to work this mornin, gonna have fun when i get off!
read the battery voltage and then probe the wires one by one a little ways away from the battery. If you alt wire shows 14.4 and the batt is only at 11, its the connector.
hmm well when i find out where it got towed to, i'll get it home and test that shit before i spend 140 dollars on an alternator. what fun today was!!!
sounds like youve got my kinda luck! im in the middle of rewiring my whole truck right now cuz of gay little problems like that.
