Well.. my wife's Suzuki Aerio blew a bearing it needs a short block, it took a week for them to approve it under warranty... I had to send them a years worth of oil change receipts... I get online and within 5 minutes find posts on different Suzuki forums where dozens of people had the same problem, after the service manager and district rep give me this crap about this being the first time something like this happened and they want to have the fluids checked by a lab to make sure I used the right oil... When I dropped it off May 25th, they told me call Enterprise get a rental and if it's a warranty issue they'll take care of it... Well when they called me back a week later after me calling them asking what the deal is, they say, well the rental is only during the 3/36 period so you have to pay for the rental... long story short what turned into a week to get the car back, turned into 2 weeks of parts supposedly not showing up, to 3 weeks and now I wont get the car back until 6/21/06 (well that's what they claim now)... I called Suzuki customer service, explained to them my problem an that I'd appreciate if they could pay half, or even the original 1st week of the rental and they called the dealer, put me on hold for over a half hour, and when they got back on, they pretty much they told me to go f**k myself and pay for the rental because by law they dont have to pay for it.. Now through this whole mmonth long ordeal I have not been mean, nasty, rude, in any way, I have been calm the whole time, because I try not to stress myself out over sh*t like this... So now I will have a $1200.00+ rental bill... I work around dealerships, so I know that warranty work doesnt gets paid off of book time(book says 10 hours, they fix in 5, you still get billed for 10 hours) they get paid for a more realistic time frame(book says 10, they fix in 5, warranty pays for 6), so I believe they probably have my car to the side and am working on non-warranty work because it makes them more money.. FYI most dealerships do this (not all, but most), 3 people in the service dept. as well as the CSR at Suzuki have told me different things regarding which parts are supposedly missing... I pretty much told them I will handle this with my pocket book, I will never buy another Suzuki whether car, or motorcycle, or whatever, and I will tell everyone I know that the service is garbage... They claim the best warranty in America... yeah, South America.... I've seen people on here support people with little problems so please support my big problem with Suzuki and spread the word that buying one is not worth the sh*t you'll get if it ever needs service...
ok the labor thing this is how it goes(for ford anyways) there is a labor rate for customer pay and another one for warranty. wheni worked at the ford dealership warranty ALWAYS came first cuz u knew the money was there but it didnt pay as much. regard less of if it pays 10 hrs to do, wetehr it customer pay or warranty, if you do it in less time, thats how technicians make there money, just warranty pays less time then customer pay.
