Anyone on here going to/went to UTI? I'm considering going for the Diesel program. What are the ups/downs to the school? Would you recommend it? Anything you would suggest doing before going? Thanks.
Chris
me and a freind went to the campus here in tx for a tour.not sure bout there, but this one classes are mon-fri,either 2-8pm or 6:30am-12pm.the one here seems ok.but in the automotive section, looks like theyll teach pretty much the basics that most "car/truck" people should know already. but good thing, get you ASE certified .and it was in the neighberhood of $24,000 for a year.
I'm in the collision course, so i don't know much about the auto/diesel stuff. the amount you learn depends on how much you already know. they help you find a job when you graduate, and you get the pieces of paper(certifications) that SAY you know how to do the stuff, so those are the main reasons i'm there.
My advice, don't go and waste your money, just apprentice some where and you'll leanr 10 times more and make a little money doing it, Your pretty much paying to get cxertified in which case you can just take your ase's online anyway and save yourself a year.

had a buddy go to uti in the dieasl program in chi-town and he left ti after 6 months cause he said you can learn alot of the shit for alot cheaper at a community college
