Can i Powder coat NEW Ball joints?

87 chevy upper ball joints.. They are new/raw. Never been greased. is there anything inside that woldnt stand up to the heat?
OR
I guess i never paid much attention, what does everyone else do with them, rattle can (NO) real auto motive paint?? --Thanks
