Got these mirrors for Christmas, kept putting them off to get some fillers laser but.. but I got bored today, bought some metal and attempted with a jigsaw lol. I like them so far.. Hoping to get em on the truck tomorrow after work.

Looks badass man!

I want to get some eventually for myself. Luckily for me AVS makes some specifically for my truck lol.

Thanks guys!

And I almost did get a finger, a few times.. for trying to hold the metal down with elbow/forearm while that hand holds the edge hanging out in the open and other hand cuts lol.. I kept realizing it was a dangerous position but it worked! Had to do the rounded edges on the bench grinder because trying to round them with the saw just made the metal flop all crazy like LOL.

it looks good.. you could also try to open the access area up in the inside of the door, get a piece of small flat and drill a hole.. use that hole to mount the mirror, but also since the flat would be long enough from side to side, it would hold the filler tight without the screws on the outside, if you were thinking of a way to get rid of those.

It's only 22gauge so it is a little flemsy, I have different amounts of washers on each bolt to even it out so it wouldn't bend the filler in at the different depths in the area, original plan was to weld bolts to the backside and put nuts on inside by cutting out an access area like you mentioned but then I thought chrome bolts wouldn't look so bad.. Still have plenty of metal to change it up someday if I wanted, but it turned out nice enough for now.. may still drill one hole inside and use a longer bolt for the mirror itself just to give it extra strength in case anyone was to bump the mirrors walking by

Glad I FINALLY got these suckers on though.. been in my room since Christmas LOL.

Here's a pic of my bed so far also in the process of bagging it..

My sig has a link to my entire project thread on my forum.. check it out!

learn from my experiences.....people will bump into those things daily if u drive it a lot and park in public parking lots. if u can, go ahead do ur longer bolt idea to make it as strong as possible. just a heads up! looks damn good man!

Gonna be parked at the house all weekend while I'm @ Unite, gonna let the family know to watch out lol.. then the next couple days it's just work and back then I'll pick up some chrome bolts (those things add up!) and strengthen They do sorta vibrate when slamming door/hitting bumps, so definitely a good idea!
