welding on a nodular iron housing

Would welding to a nodular iron housing be similar to welding to mild steel or is there a special procedure like welding to cast? I read in a offroad article that its easier to weld to then cast but how much easier?

doing something with a dana 60?

From what I hear you can weld it with 7018 stick electrodes. Or TIG/MIG it with ER70S-2.
