torque setting rearend

anyone know where i can find or know off hand the torque setting for the nut on the rearend behind the driveshaft flange on a 2000 ranger ext. cab.

i'm pretty sure the preload is what you measure rather than the torque on the fastener itself.

i've been told to make to marks with a punch and then realign them (shouldn't be able to get an extra turn) when replacing the pinion seal.
