WHY!!!

Honestly, if there Dodge held the market share that Ford and Chevy do, then you'd have a never ending supply of aftermarket parts available. Simple fact is, they don't. What it comes down to is that no compay is going to spend tens of thousands of dollars on prototyping and tooling for somthing they're not guaranteed a return on.

Go check the owners profiles on here..it gives you a pretty good idea of how many there are. There are maybe 300 Dodge Rams of all years listed under owner's profiles here...a small percentage of those are gonna be your 02-up. Look at that, versus well over 2500 full size chev/gmc owners. It's not exact, but it gives you a quick idea as to why there are no aftermarket parts for your truck.

You'll just have to be that much more creative, and you can be even more proud when your truck is done.

I'm proud of the one I made for my truck, however, it's not as clean as some skins I have seen before, being it was made with a rubber mallet, grinder, cut off wheel, and alot of hard work, but it will do the job. But i have a customer who wants one, and he doesn't want to use the tailgate, he just wants to skin it. Bed/tailgate/taillights were damaged in an accident and he wants to spend the money on a skin and not on OEM parts. Which is why i started this thread, not to whine......

Did you try a local metal shop that deals with sheet metal. The guy that did work on my buddies S-10 blazer 4dr had sheet metal made that looked factory when the blazer was lengtened 8 feet between the front and rear doors.

well jerry, all i can say is that mazdas are cooler. just kiddin man. i need to get over there and check out your ride. is it on the road again yet? seeing as how you have got your business up and running now, you should look into getting a shear and break. we have got the perfect size at work if you want to break in and grab it. hahaha. i heard that there is a place in dallas that you can get them pretty cheap. somebody buys them from the airline companies when they get new ones and then they turn around and sell them pretty cheap. i will try to find out more for you on it.

If you think finding parts for an 02 is bad you should try finding something for a 94-01! There is nothing out there for these trucks at all! If you find a part it's either overpriced, the quality sucks or it's just not worth buying period.

I have a 94 and a 2000 Ram. There are so many parts that no one makes for them you would think the trucks are hard to find. Dodge Rams have a lot of potential but thanks to the engineers at Dodge they complicated so many features and screwed up a lot of simple areas on the truck it makes them not worth building. Which is probably why manufacture's don't get demand for parts. No one wants to work on them.

Everything for these trucks either cost and arm and leg or you have to custom make it. It makes the trucks more unique but a pain when you want to make a simple change to something.

I have respect for anyone that has ever successfully completed a Dodge Ram!

Best of luck!
