whats up guys? i have a question for everybody. i took the body from a existing rendering and made my own rendering from it. i was wondering, do you think it is wrong for me to say it is my work? below is the existing rendering along with the one i created from it.
i dont want comments about the quality of the rendering becuase i know its not perfect.

from an artist point of view, i think its wrong. You should have the courtesy to ask the person who did the original if you can use it. Taking credit for it, even with changes is still stealing someone elses work, imo.

i also thought i should add that i am not in any kind of buisness or such. im not looking to make money. i just got photoshop and i have been messing around with it. i also made the logo for fun as well.

so it would of made a difference if i started with a pic of a dakota, same angle, and added my likings like the wheels, no mirrors, the front end, and the color?

it's an interesting problem...

It's got a few angles.

mostly, the image of the orignial truck probably wasn't taken by the person who did the rendering, the wheels, and all the accessories aren't hand created, they're images presumably borrowed from somewhere else.

I guess I don't see the difference between googling for an imagine of the truck and then photoshopping it up, and having found a pre-photoshoped truck, and adding your own modifications, which obviously you did.

And considering you're not making money on it, then who really cares. All the images are stolen start to finish, so i think no one really can claim the rights of ownership.

(I saw GameOver let him use it but still my 2 cents)

That'd be stealing. You should never alter anyones work without asking for their permission.
