I think all of the hinges on the market work the same way- they have a right angle near the hinge pin that makes the door swivel out and away from your quarter panel for clearance as it opens."True" suicide doors, at least the REALLY old ones, were hinged on the outside of the door, like a Jeep or VW Bug door- not the most attractive setup for your mod! When shopping for aftermarket hinges, balance the essentials against your budget. Hagens has some really nice hinges for around $400 that have a spring-loaded stop that opens the door partway and holds it there, and allows the door to go a full 90 degrees if the shape of your car will allow it.Our hinges cost around $100 for a set, and although they don't have that cool stop, they have bronze bushings on the hinge pins, are made from the same thickness of material, and do 99% of the things a more expensive set will do.There are several other brands between those price levels, so shop around and pick your favorite!Oh, and be sure to post some pictures when you get them installed- that's one of the coolest mods out there!
