If they make a steel tank couldn't you section an inch or so out if it? Doesn't some company make replacement tanks that sit higher? What about having someone make you a tank that sits higher on the frame but still under the bed?

devious customs makes em and they are like 400 dollars i think or some where around that price. but on annother note move it to the bed and make a cover for it my friend got stopped the other day by a trooper and was told that carrying a tank in the bed was the same as driving a tractor trailer hauling gas and unless youre endorsed for hazmat and shit just cover it and it will look fine

Repair the brackets and dont drag till you get the tank raised

Do yourself a favor, temporarily move the tank to the bed then save up for whatever you want to do. It's understandable to not have time or money to do it how you want at first but make it safe for the time being...you'll be happy later on.

Well I've already been through 1 Tank so far and it sucked replacing it cause It was a lot harder to find a steal tank than I thought they only had one out of like 5 junkyards....

i have a 95 std cab and i cut my rear crossmember out cut the top half off and i boxed my frame rails in and moved it up farther in the rear and then cut the top 2 nuts off the front bracket and drilled some new holes in the frame about halfway betweem the 4 and bolted it back together and im off the ground about a good inch or 2
