whooah is me, gas tank draggin :(

well I was draggin my truck up and down the road by the house testing out some stuff i've been working on and then I hear an unusual sound...so I stop and lo and behold my gas tank brackets had been drug through and my gas tank was literally laying on the hardtop LOL...now I don't have time to go order a suicide doors job, etc...I need a fix and need one quick, any ideas? BTW it's a 98 s-10 reg. cab.

put the damn thing in the bed before you make yourself another statistic of our life style

i just got done replacing mine i drug through it also. cost $50 at the junk yard. but now i am having surging issues that i didnt have before. does anybody have a clue??? sorry chris kinda hijacked your topic lol.

well if i put it in the bed, it'll look gawky, LOL... and no problem the surging sounds like its coming from the sending unit itself.

if youre gonna drag and the gas tank is obviously gonna be drug through. Do yourself and other people on the road a favor and just relocate it cuz putting yourself and others at risk cuz it looks gawky is just stupid. Id take gawky over being the human torch. Just make a hole for the gas tank inside the bed and attach the tank to the frame only.

or get a fuel cell...

the way i did my 96 s10 was bodybropped the bed and put the gas tank on top of the frame, i body droped the truck 4 1/2 and the bed till the finders were almost at the top of the bed.
worked and looked good.

I will give you a hundred dollars if you don't look "gawky"er sitting on the side of the road with a gas tank laying on the ground or worse truck burning to the ground.
