what would 8.625 be on a tape measure?

i know its more than 8.5 and less than 8.75 but i cant find a damn tape measure to look at it

yes, .625 is the same thing as 5/8. I did a google search for a decimal converter...I fucking suck in math.

8 5/8" is correct! Take the top number of the fraction and divide it by the bottom number and it will give you the decimal form. 5/8=.625

i work in a machine shop for a living so i can spit those out pretty damn good, lol takes a while to learn em by heart though.
